Role summary
The Finance Intern will be an integral part of the finance and accounts team, assisting with a variety of tasks related to bookkeeping, financial reporting, and statutory compliance. This role provides practical experience with Tally software and exposure to the operations of a software segment business.
Responsibilities
Accounting and bookkeeping:
Perform day-to-day transaction entries, including sales, purchases, receipts, and payments, into Tally software.
Assist in maintaining up-to-date ledgers for various accounts.
Process and file invoices, receipts, and other financial documents.
Reconciliation and reporting:
Assist in bank reconciliation, ensuring all entries match bank statements.
Support the preparation of financial reports, such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
Help generate and analyze various Management Information System (MIS) reports for key stakeholders.
Compliance and taxation:
Assist with the preparation and filing of tax returns, including GST (Goods and Services Tax) and TDS (Tax Deducted at Source).
Support the compilation of necessary documentation for internal and external audits.
Help ensure adherence to relevant financial regulations and company policies.
Financial analysis:
Support the finance team with basic data analysis tasks.
Assist with budget tracking and variance analysis.
Administrative support:
Organize and maintain financial records and documents, both physically and digitally.
Coordinate with vendors, clients, and internal teams on finance-related queries.
Qualifications
Educational background: Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in B.Com, M.Com, MBA (Finance), or a related field.
Technical skills:
Working knowledge of Tally software is essential.
Proficiency in MS Excel (including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis).
Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial statements.
Soft skills:
Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Problem-solving abilities and a proactive, eager-to-learn attitude.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
